On behalf of the Program Committee, we thought you might like a preview of what next year is bringing. We're still in the early stages, have several commitments from speakers and several more pending, but it's beginning to look like another exciting year for the Guild.

In September, we have been invited to participate an annual Town Forest Event put on by MA Dept. of Conservation and Recreation that emphasizes forestry and forest products. This year the event will be Sept 14 at Sherbourne Town Forest. North Bennett St School will be giving tours of the barn it's Preservation Carpentry school has restored and there's be tree harvesting and sawing as we did last year in Barre. We don't yet know what we'll be doing. Those of you familiar with the New Hampshire Guild of Woodworkers August participation in the craft show at Sunapee may have some ideas. Our participation isn't certain yet, but we'll keep you updated this summer if this event appears to be worthwhile to the Guild.

Chris Nassise, who now works part-time at Old Sturbridge Village as they bring cabinetmaking back into their programs, will demonstrate raw boards to furniture in December.

Phil Lowe will be showing curved components; steam bending, bent lamination and bricking at his shop in January.

Brock Jobe, former director of the Winterthur Museum, is expected to present a lecture on Craftsman Period furniture and design. Date TBD.

Mickey Callahan will follow up his previous presentation on veneering methods with a presentation on veneering book-matching, mirror-imaging, cross-banding and sunburst patterns, probably next winter.

Matt Wajda will be back with a chair-making presentation (let's see what's different from Tom McLaughlin's presentation this year). Date TBD.

Jamey Pope, instructor at NBSS at whose shop Will Neptune presented at this year, will present on a topic and date TBD.

We're also working on vendors to get a presentation on dust control for small shops, but that is still uncertain at this time.

Finally, both Tom McLaughlin (Rough Cut) and Will Neptune have been invited back but aren't expected to respond until fall because their teaching schedules for next year are still undetermined.

Keep an eye on EMGW.org for further developments. And thanks to all of you that submitted program ideas a week or so ago.
