We've arranged a special tour of the Old Schwamb Mill in Arlington, MA, the oldest continuously operating mill in the US, for Tuesday, August 15.
The Mill features its unique 19th-century elliptical lathes, its original belt-driven shaft-and-pulley machinery, and the original hand-turning process that is still used today to create custom-made oval and circular frames.
Master turner David Graf will be giving us a demonstration at 1:00 PM. Please arrive a little early as this is an extra summer meeting and there will be no formal business conducted before his presentation.
The Schwamb Mill Presentation Trust suggests a contribution of $5.00 per person if possible.
