Shannon provided the following bio and a challenge to us:

Shannon is a wood nerd, nuff said. As a woodworker, furniture maker, podcaster, blogger, teacher, and Director of Marketing for one of the oldest Lumber companies in the country, he really can't stop talking about wood and the beautiful ways it can be used.  Shannon founded The Hand Tool School in 2010 and has been teaching thousands of woodworkers on 6 continents to use hand tools and bore their family with old tools and pictures of wood shavings.

As far as the topic I plan to discuss the journey of lumber from forest to retail lumber yard shelf and explain all the sourcing, sawing, sorting, grading, pricing, etc that happens before we woodworkers see the boards.  I've planned for plenty of time for questions as historically there are MANY when I start talking about wood.  Tell everyone to bring questions and try to stump the wood nerd.
