Traditional Woodworking Interest Group (TWIG)

“Traditional”, in the sense used by this forum, simply reflects an interest in human-powered tools and methods. Our meetings are an informal, open conversation where we share our experiences finding, using, and caring for hand tools. And frequently the discussion turns to other aspects of woodworking.

The group does not advocate hand tool-only work. In fact, group experiences vary; some use hand tools and methods frequently, others turn to them to augment and refine machine work. Rather, our focus is on the effective and efficient use of a tool in any context. Often, discussion starts with a current challenge or experience faced by one of the members. The conversation from there invariably uncovers a wealth of tips and information from the group.

We hold meetings on the first Tuesday of each month, typically via Zoom with an occasional in-person meeting. Meetings are listed in the Upcoming Guild Events section on the HOME page.  You are cordially invited to participate.  Please join us!
